Academia Básica del Aire

The Industrial, Computer and Aerospace Engineering School has signed an agreement with the Academia Básica del Aire (Air Force Academy) which allows to aerospace engineering students to realize practical classes in its full equipped laboratories. Also, several research projects are developed in the Academia Básica del Aire facilities.

Instituto Nacional de Técnica Aeroespacial (INTA)

INTA (National Institute of Aerospace Technology) is the Public Research Organization specialized in aerospace research and technology development. It belongs to the Ministry of Defence and develops a lot of projects, on its own and also as a collaborative effort with other institutions, that can be applied to the aerospace field. INTA works with the Aerospace Engineering Area in several research projects related with propulsion systems and UAS’s.

Ingeniería y Servicios Aeroespaciales S.A. (INSA)

INSA is a Spanish company that operates in the aerospace sector providing services and engineering. INTA, organism that depends on the Defence Office, owns 100% of the company, which is the biggest one in the sector by employees number. Nowadays, INSA is developing an important amount of research projects with the Aerospace Engineering Area.

Colegio Oficial de Ingenieros Técnicos Aeronáuticos de España (COITAE)

Colegio Oficial de Ingenieros Técnicos Aeronáuticos de España is a professional organization formed by Technical Aeronautical Engineers. The purposes of the COITAE is maintain control or oversight of the legitimate practice of the occupation and represent the interest of the professional practitioners. It works with the Aerospace Engineering Area in order to improve the students’ skills and help them to become a member of the aerospace engineering profession.

Ejército del Aire (EA)

The Ejército del Aire (Spanish Air Force) is the aerial branch of the Spanish Armed Forces. The University of León and the Industrial, Computer and Aerospace Engineering School have signed an agreement with the Teaching Director of the Ejercito del Aire which allows aerospace engineering students to be as apprenticeship in the EA high technical qualification centres located in Madrid, Albacete, Sevilla, Zaragoza or Gando

Fundación Centro de Supercomputación de Castilla y León (FCSCL)

Caléndula, the FCSCL supercomputer, is a very powerful computer (up to 2000 cores) which aim is to help research works developed in universities, research centres and companies located in Castilla y León. The Aerospace Engineering Area usually works in collaboration with the FCSCL in order to arrange training courses about applied supercomputing in engineering, as well as running CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) simulations that require large computational capacities.
