As a consequence of the strategic nature of aerospace engineering and industry, both in the past and today, it is not surprising that among the competencies associated with the aerospace engineering professions, explicitly include those linked to a necessary understanding of air defense systems and space propulsion. Rockets and Missiles are two types of aerial vehicles whose differentiating characteristics are, fundamentally, their propulsive systems (rocket engines), their control and guidance systems and their high flight speed.
